Theodora Ruth Bridges

Theodora R. Bridges, 37, passed away at her residence on Thursday, September 2, 2021.

Theodora R. Bridges was born March 9, 1984, in Pontiac, MI to James and Eddie R. Bridges. She graduated from Tylertown High School in 2002. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University in 2006 and her master’s degree in Education from Mississippi College in 2012.

Theodora was passionate about education and was an elementary science schoolteacher. She worked for the Jackson Public School district for 10 years. In addition to teaching, Theodora also worked as a tutor. She was a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. She was initiated in 2005 at Mississippi State University through the Epsilon Theta Chapter. Theodora enjoyed cooking and considered herself a “foodie.” She has always been a member of civic organizations throughout her life such as the Girl Scouts, 4-H, just to name a few.

Theodora loved her family and is survived by her parents, James and Eddie Bridges; siblings James Bridges, Walter Bridges, Ellelean (Marty) Childress, Jonathan Bridges, Maggie Bridges, David Bridges, and Charles Bridges; nieces, nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A private family viewing was held on Sunday, September 5, 2021. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in support of educators.
